I have enough storage externally (FireWire and USB HDDs) to backup the data in case I need to reconstruct anything, but there is no way for me to get the data off the LUNs unless the iSCSI target mounts.Ģ008 iMac 2.8 running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 I am currently running another check disk, but it's still going. Same thing happens: the iSCSI initiator software says a connection was successful yet no volumes mount.Īny ideas? There is a lot of important content on the QNAP that I really do not want to lose. After enabling the LUNs and targets, I attempted to reconnect. Disabled the targets and LUNs in the Target Management panel and deleted a LUN I didn't need too much in hopes it would free enough space. Odd, I thought, and disconnected from the target. I tried to connect to the iSCSI targets to try free up more space, but noticed that once the iSCSI Target gets connected to the volume doesn't mount (doesn't show up on desktop nor as an attached volume in Disk Utility). Still said 0.1MB was free, even though I deleted nearly 100GB of content. I disconnected all iSCSI targets and ran a checkdisk operation, which took a little over an hour. I deleted some unneeded folders to try free up space, but no dice. Afterwords I connected to the iSCSI target like usual via the globalSAN iSCSI initiator software. I stopped the transfer, and turned the QNAP off so it wouldn't stress out all night long.Īfter waking up this morning, turned on the QNAP and went to get some coffee while it was booting up. In the middle of the night I was woken by my QNAP beeping slowly in pain every 30 minutes or so with a "Volume Full" error on the LCD. Last night I left my system on overnight as I was copying data from one LUN to another, and went to sleep as it would take several hours. Didn't really affect me, as I had a few hundred gigabytes of free space to work with. Apparently, I accidentally over-allocated space when setting up my LUNs as I didn't notice they were thin-provisioning. ![]()
